
So the night before surgery I thought I'd take a picture of my stomach. At that point we had just found out that it was very likely I'd need an ileostomy, after failing my test a few hours earlier! The mark above was where the stoma nurse had marked where my ileostomy would go if it was needed.

And this is the after and current look I'm doing for probably about the next 5 months...which is when the reversal surgery will be performed. The drain is thankfully out but that really hurt! I thought it would be like taking a central line out, which is no big deal, but I was really wrong! My nurses often commented that I never grimaced even when being poked and prodded so often, but when this drain came out....I was grimacing, and hope I don't have that for the second part of the surgery!
